Reversed cards
Upside down does not mean the opposite.
A reversed card does not flip its meaning. It usually means one of three things: the meaning turned INWARD, made HARDER, or NOT YET arrived.
Three ways to read one
- INWARD — the Sun upright shines outward; reversed, joy felt inside but not shown.
- BLOCKED — Strength upright is calm courage; reversed, struggling to find it.
- NOT YET — an Ace upright is a new start; reversed, the start exists but the timing has not come.
If you are starting out, not using reversals at all is completely valid. Plenty of experienced readers skip them too. You can add them later.
What does a reversed card NOT mean?
It does not invert; it changes the direction or the intensity.
