Privacy Policy

1. DATA COLLECTION

Celestine stores your profile, readings, journal and chat history locally on your device (AsyncStorage). We keep no user accounts and no server-side database of your personal data. Our proxy keeps only short-lived, anonymous counters used for rate limiting and cost control (see section 3). What does leave your device: the text you send in chat, dream descriptions, the photos you submit for coffee, tea or palm readings, your birth date and the sun, moon and rising signs derived from it (used to personalise a reading), the intentions you chose during setup, and — only in coffee, tea and palm reading requests — your name, if you entered one. Your birth time and birth place do NOT leave your device; they are used on-device only, to calculate your rising sign.

Data stored locally includes:

  • Name (if provided), birth date, birth time and birth place
  • Zodiac preferences and intents
  • Tarot draw history, dream readings and compatibility checks
  • Journal/wish entries, evening reflections and mood check-ins
  • Chat messages with the guides
  • Crystal balance, streak and app settings

2. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Celestine uses the following third-party services:

  • Anthropic (Claude API): Chat messages, dream descriptions, the photos you submit for coffee-cup, tea-leaf or palm readings, and the birth data listed above are sent through our proxy to Anthropic's API for processing only. Anthropic acts as a processor on our behalf and does not use this content to train its models. Photos are resized on your device, are never saved by the app or our proxy, and are not retained beyond the request lifecycle. Readings are for entertainment.
  • Cloudflare (Workers): Our proxy runs on Cloudflare. Requests pass through it and are not stored there; Cloudflare processes them as our infrastructure provider.
  • RevenueCat: For managing premium subscriptions and crystal purchases. RevenueCat processes purchase data according to their privacy policy.

We do NOT use advertising networks. Celestine contains no ads, no ad SDK and no advertising identifier, and we do not track you across apps or websites.

3. DEVICE IDENTIFIER

The app generates a random identifier on first launch (for example "d_8f2k...") and sends it with each request to our proxy. It exists for one purpose only: per-device rate limiting, so that a single device cannot exhaust the service. It is not your advertising ID, is not linked to your name or account, is never shared with third parties, and is deleted when you erase your data or uninstall the app.

4. REPORTING AN AI REPLY

If you report a reply from a guide, we send our proxy the first 400 characters of that AI-generated reply, the guide's name, the reason you selected and the app language. Your own message is not included. These reports are written to our server log so we can review and improve safety. Reporting is always your choice.

5. DATA STORAGE

All personal data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all stored data. We do not maintain backups of your data.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Celestine is rated 16+ and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you are a parent and believe your child has used this app, please contact us.

7. DATA DELETION

You can permanently erase ALL your data at any time via Settings > Erase All Data (including profile, journals, chats and crystals). Settings > Clear All History removes only reading/draw history. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last Updated" date.
