Cards talk to each other
A spread is not a list of cards but the relationships between them.
Read three cards one by one and you have done three separate readings. Reading begins when you see the relationships between them.
What to look for
- SUIT BALANCE — all three Swords? The matter is entirely in your head and nothing has been acted on.
- REPEATED NUMBERS — two fives? The crisis is being underlined.
- DIRECTION — are the figures facing each other or turned away? The way they stand tells a story.
- WHAT IS ABSENT — no Pentacles at all means you have not thought about the practical side.
The strongest information is often in what is MISSING. No Cups in a love question says the relationship is about something other than feeling.
What might no Cups in a love spread suggest?
A missing suit tells you which area the matter is NOT in.
